Original Abstract

This contribution presents the newest results obtained from the complex study of the chemical processes occurring in the DC diaphragm discharge in water solutions. The work follows up the previous attempts with the decomposition of organic dyes and extends the general view on the degradation process with new model compounds - humic acids. The process is investigated for various adjustment of the experimental parameters such as the applied high voltage, the discharge power, the electrolyte used in experiments, the initial conductivity of the solution etc. The influences of these discharge conditions on the degradation process are not simple and thus they are discussed in the text.
