Original Abstract

The deployment of the next generation Internet Protocol (IPv6) has already started. Much of the existing security discussion around IPv6 has focused on its inclusion of IPsec. While the confidentiality, integrity, and authentication features of IPsec are clearly useful, IPSec deployment will suffer many of the same deployment challenges as are currently seen in IPv4. This paper discusses the security aspects of IPv6, and describes related issues for site administrators of IPv6 networks to consider.
