Original Abstract

This paper’s goal is to perform and evaluate a MIPv6 implementation and respective simulation model by confrontation. A mobile node movement is realized within the 802.11g wireless network equipped with Cisco Aironet access points as a part of an experimental network which contains Cisco 2610XM access router running 12.3(14)T1 IOS as a core element. SW analyzers such as Ethereal and Observer are used for investigating IP-based mobility processes. Subsequent simulation is done in the ns-2 (Network Simulator 2) environment, originating from the Berkeley University.
