Original Abstract

The load carrying capacity of a hot-rolled steel beam IPN 200 under compression is analyzed. Computational models were created with the Ansys software, using the 3D element SOLID185. Load carrying capacity is determined using the geometrically and materially non-linear solution with consideration to the effects of initial random imperfections and residual stress. Latin Hypercube Sampling algorithm is used to generate samples of imperfections. The mesh convergence study is presented and a comparison how different variants with finer mesh influent the load-carrying capacity is carried out.
