Original Abstract
The paper is concerned with measuring the perceived quality of a streaming video by mobile applications. Summarizing the theoretical approaches to measuring the quality of experience (QoE), it presents an Android mobile application that uses the YouTube Android API environment. Using this application, it is possible to evaluate the way users perceive the quality of streaming videos, storing these data in a database. Such stored data then may be analysed by correlation analysis. Unproperly switching video quality, which occurs when video is not able to load in high quality or vice versa, significantly affects the quality of user experience. To set these switching parameters properly several tests have been performed. Based on these tests it is possible to suggest methods that may remove such undesired effects.
