The abstract deals with the design of a sensing system utilizing the standard optical fibre as a distributed sensor for detection, localization and classification of the mechanical vibrations that can be caused by various events such as walking people, running cars, trains and by other objects producing mechanical vibration that can be sensed by an optical fibre. The detection technique is similar to reflectometry principle.

Abstrakt se zabývá návrhem snímacího systému využívajícího standardní optická vlákna jako distribuované senzoru pro detekci, lokalizaci a klasifikaci mechanických vibrací, které mohou být způsobeny různými událostmi, jako jsou lidi, auta, vlaky a jiné objekty, vyrábějící mechanické vibrace, které mohou být snímány optickým vláknem. Detekční technika je podobná reflektometrickému principu.
