Original Abstract

The Smart Grid, as a current progressive new field, brings new possibilities and also new challenges. This paper deals with cyber security challenges in Smart Grid area. We provide a random number generator, which might be used for cryptographic purpose in low-power parts of Smart Grid network. The presented solution use hardware events and it is an effective solution for true random number needs with keeping the low-power and low-cost attributes. We also provide a basic analysis of this solution as a prove of security and show the use in our secure framework for Smart Grid.
