Original Abstract

In the paper, we compare selected concepts of planar antennas developed for body-centric wireless commu¬nication to be operated in ISM frequency bands. Antennas, which were originally designed for Teflon-based substrates, have been redesigned for textile materials to create their wearable versions. Wearable antennas have been implemented using conductive fabrics, inkjet printing and screen printing. As a substrate, conventional fabrics and 3D textile materials have been used. Newly developed textile versions of antennas are compared with original Teflon-based antennas from the viewpoint of impedance characteristics.

Keywords

Wearable antenna, slot antenna, substrate integrated waveguide, conductive textile, ink-jet printing, screen printing, 3D textile material.
