Original Abstract

Hyaluronan is a chemical with prevalent hydrophilic character in native form. This is the main limiting factor for the formation of the interactions with hydrophobic species without additional support. The main aim of this work was to utilize freeze-drying method to support desired interactions. Hydrophobic polarity-sensitive fluorescence probes were used as hydrophobic models or indicators of interactions with hydrophobic patches. By monitoring of their specific fluorescence parameters the presence of desired interactions was judged. The fluorescence parameters were studied by steady state fluorescence spectrometry.
