Original Abstract

The presented paper deals with the fuzzy stochastic reliability verification of a steel member designed according to the European Design Standards. The structural reliability of a steel strut is verified by a fuzzy-probabilistic method. If interpretable information was provided by experiments, thus input material and geometrical characteristics of the calculation model could be considered to be random quantities. Fuzzy numbers were considered in the cases where statistic data were incomplete. The output quantity of calculation model is the fuzzy reliability index. Fuzzy and stochastic uncertainties of both input and output quantities of calculation models are discussed.
