Original Abstract

Nosocomial infections remain still a serious problem in health care, aspecially in the field of cardiovascular surgery. These infections might cause very dangerous health complications and also the treatment is very expensive. It seems that local theraly with carefully chosen antibiotics applied during the operation could be very effective against microbial pathogens which penetrate into the human body. The local therapy deals with low doses of the antimicrobial agents and with almost no presence of adverse affects.
