Original Abstract

The paper is dedicated to experiments on near-threshold fatigue cracks under mixedmode II+III in the ARMCO iron. The mixed mode crack growth was described using an equivalent factor ΔJeff,eq = (1 - α)ΔJeff,eqII + αΔJeff,eqIII. The most appropriate description was found for α = 0.67 indicating that the mode III component should be more efficient than that of the mode II which is in contradiction of a ΔKeq–based analysis. This result shows that, unlike in the austenitic steel, the difference in the efficiency of modes II and III in the ARMCO iron is very small.

Článek je věnován experimentům na únavových trhlinách ve smíšeném módu II + III v prahové oblasti v ARMCO železe. Růst trhlin ve smíšeném módu II + III byl popsán pomocí ekvivalentního faktoru ΔJeff,eq = (1 - α)ΔJeff,eqII + αΔJeff,eqIII. Nejvhodnější popis byl nalezen pro α = 0,67, který ukazuje na to, že složka módu III by měla být účinnější než složka v módu II, což je v rozporu s analýzou založenou na ΔKeq. Výsledek také ukazuje, že, na rozdíl od austenitickéocel, je rozdíl v účinnosti módů II a III v ARMCO železe velmi malý.

English abstract
