Original Abstract

The functionality of PLC operations becomes more essential and complicated and critical software applications increase in size and complexity. Pham writes that the reliability of the software not only becomes more important, but faults in software design become more subtle [Pham00]. Generally, software reliability is different form hardware reliability in the sense that software does not wear out; in fact, the software itself does not fail. The human interpretation and implementation of design goals can possibly cause a failure in system.
