Original Abstract

The paper deals with the direction-of-arrival estimation applied to speech signals, which means azimuth and elevation determination using algorithms based on time delay estimations. We discuss here the possibility to recognize the speaker’s correct position in dependence on particular speech sounds of the utterance using an 8-microphone array. We have simulated vowels as well as consonants degraded by a variety of additive noise levels.
