Original Abstract

One of the basic indicators of reliability of steel structures is the probability of failure. The goal of the presented article is the analysis of the misalignment of failure probability of a beam under bending solved with regard to the influence of lateral-torsional buckling. A beam of profile IPE200 was considered for the numerical study. End-fork IPE-beam under bending It was assumed that the ends of the beam are prevented from lateral deflection and from twisting. Failure probability is a function of the random variability of the load-carrying capacity and the random variability of load effects. The variability of the load-carrying capacity is influenced by the variability of initial imperfections. The probabilistic approach to the condition of reliability is generally created as the most adverse relation between the load effect and load-carrying capacity. The theoretical failure probability is calculated using the Latin Hypercube Sampling simulation method.
