Original Abstract

The overall degradation of a historical building material or structure can be expressed, in the simplest way, by a qualitative or numerical indicator of the global condition level which determines the loss of performance of the considered material, building part or the whole building under its climatic environment over time. The load-bearing structures and surfaces are parts of a historical building where the assessment of the deterioration level is of critical importance.
