Original Abstract
Biodegradable polyurethane (bio-PU) elastomers with potential use as artificial veins in regenerative medicine were synthesized by solvent free method using poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG), poly(caprolactone) (PCL) and hexamethylene diisocyanate catalyzed with tin-2-ethyl hexanoate. Different diol hydrophilic (PEG) to hydrophobic (PCL) content ratios of 7:3, 1:1 and 3:7 were used. Samples made of one type of diol, either hydrophilic PEG or hy-drophobic PCL, were synthesized as well. Subsequently samples made of PEG/PCL in ratios 2:8 and 1:9 were synthesized also to tune the mechanical properties. Influence of the composition on the structure is discussed in this contribution.
