Original Abstract

This paper is focused on description of complex General Aviation aircraft system safety and reliability assessment method used in aircraft electric system certification assessment. It is a short presentation of basic approaches, principles and methods for evaluation of aircraft critical systems. Presented procedures were used in development of several General Aviation airplanes. In the era of More Electric Aircraft the electric system is one of the most important and critical parts of the aircraft. Therefore it is necessary to properly analyze and evaluate reliability according to the relevant aviation regulations or more precisely according to relevant advisory circulars. There are many processes that are used during safety and reliability assessment of an aircraft system. The conclusion of this paper is overview and summary of certification requirements, basic principles and methods for electric system evaluation. However it is not precise safety assessment guideline for evaluation of a complex system, because that is specific for each system.
