Original Abstract

The principles and the software implementation of the time-domain (TD) analysis of the pulsed electromagnetic (EM) field signal transfer in planarly layered configurations are discussed. A key instrument in this framework is the Cagniard-DeHoop method that allows performing the spectral to TD transformation via inspection. The abilities and strength of this approach are illustrated by means of suitably selected numerical examples. Also, some important implementation aspects that are seldom, if at all, described in the literature are provided.
