Original Abstract

Tungsten(VI) oxide is awidelystudiedfunctionalinorganicsemiconductormaterialwith exceptionalchromogenicproperties.Itisusedinenergyefficient systemssuchassmartwindows, sensors, displays,storageunits,photocatalystsandsolarcells.LayersofWO3 are generallyproduced using expensivevacuumdepositiontechniques.Inthispaper, theinkjetprintingofsol–gel derived tungsten inksonglassandtransparentconductiveoxideisreported.Peroxosol–gel synthesiswasused to prepareperoxopolytungsticacidsolswhichwerethenmodified usingdifferentsolventstoobtaina suitable jettingink.DescribedaretherheologicalandstructuralpropertiesofWO3 inks, thedynamicsof WO3 dropletsandthemorphologyandqualityofWO3 printouts. Thefunctionalityofthesetransparent WO3 layersissuccessfullydemonstratedinanelectrochromicdevice.
