Original Abstract

The objective of the paper is to make the road technology specialists familiar with the programme and goals of the research project Advanced reliable and durable civil engineering structures that is solved by the Road Department of Brno University of Technology in parallel with other departments of the Faculty of Civil Engineering. The programme is oriented on the development of full-scale model of flexible pavement structures. The full-scale model is constructed for the accelerated evaluation of the bearing capacity of road structures and the life time of the materials used for them. It can be used also for the testing of railway structures. The described model should help to shorten both the development and testing of new and recycled materials used for the above mentioned structures, and prove their long-term behaviour.
