Original Abstract

Due to human activities large amounts of foreign substances of different nature enter the environment. In some cases these substrances are able to persist in the environment for considerable time and consequently can have an adverse effect on ecosystems and human health. Experiments with powder Degussa P25 in suspension as well as with immobilized photocatalyst in thin layer on substrate were carried out for diclofenac degradation. Diclofenac was removed from the solution within 40 min of UV irradiation. Identification and quantification of diclofenac and its intermediates was realized by high performance liquid chromatography with mass spectometric detection.
