Original Abstract

This paper describes the topic of completing missing or distorted samples in audio recordings. First, the state-of-the-art interpolation techniques utilized for this purpose are described. However, sparse representations of signals as a new innovative approach in this research area, are overcoming current results of the state-of-the-art methods. The topic of sparse solutions of underdetermined linear systems is described in a theoretical way. Further, the comparison of interpolation and sparse solutions is presented.
