Original Abstract

This paper deals with the measurement of dispersions in single mode fibers. It discusses the brief overview, measurement and compensation of both types of dispersions occurring in these fibers – chromatic dispersion (CD) and polarization mode dispersion (PMD). The main aim is to determine the value of the two measured dispersions in different types of connections between the reference and compensation fiber, their reproducibility and accuracy of measurements.
