Original Abstract

Cement based composites present an important material in civil engineering. Moreover advanced forms of these composites (hight-performance concrete or fibre-reinforced concrete/cement based composites) are still more often used. Under loading this composites show so called quasi-brittle response/behaviour. When analysing the behaviour of such composites the fracture process zone should be taken into account. This zone, which arises ahead of the crack tip, provokes a typical nonlinear behaviour/mechanical response from the studied composite structural members.
