On the project

The comminuted fractures, for which a suitable method of fixation does not exist, are serious problem in tramatology today. A very interesting way how to solve this medical problem is to use polymer-phosphate bone cement which is able to glue small fragments of bone together like a "puzzle". The essential to this study is to prepare and characterize dopamine modified polymer-phosphate cement that will be designed to be biodegradable, well injectable via thin needle, exhibiting sufficient rheological and biomechanical properties while having a porous structure.
