The Ambassador of the France visited BUT
The Ambassador of France in The Czech Republic Mr. Dr. Roland Galharague visited The University of Technology accompanied with The Science and College Attaché Mr. Dr. Mathieu Wellhoff, Attaché for Decentralized Cooperation Mgr. Denisa Pánková-Schránilová and the diplomatic department intern Mrs. Elsa Bruto, on Monday, April 15, 2019.
The delegation was welcomed by the Rector prof. RNDr. Ing. Petr Štěpánek, CSc., Vice-Rector for International Relations prof. Ing. Jiří Hirš, CSc. and Vice-Rector for Research and Development prof. Ing. Lubomir Grmela, CSc. There was a fruitful discussion at the Rector's Office about the cooperation between BUT and French Grand Ecoles, possibilities of double degree programs for doctoral studies, involvement of BUT in European university initiatives and further development of CEITEC BUT. The current successful Double Degree programme Industrial Engineering was presented by prof. Ing. Miroslav Píška, CSc. and Bc. Katrin Buckova.
The delegation visited also the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering where, accompanied by the vice-dean prof. Ing. Ivan Křupka, Ph.D. the ambassador met with five students of the follow-up master study program Industrial Engineering (http://ensam.fme.vutbr.cz/) and familiarized himself with laboratory equipment, CNC machines, where examples of CAD/CAM advanced machining of high-tech engineering components which students of DD program have been learnt within the BUT program. The visit was held in friendly atmosphere and more areas were selected for the development of Czech-French cooperation in science, research and education.
