In their paper, the authors of education and increase of managerial competence within the accredited Master Study Programme "Economics and Management" at the Faculty of Business and Management. One of the main outcomes of the Economy and Management Program is highly qualified, educated and flexible work force - our graduates - who will consequently contribute towards high and stable employment of the Czech Republic while respecting principles of sustainable development. Dynamics of environment show that the subjects implemented into study programs and study fields must constantly take into consideration not only changes and requirements of their target group - students, but also requirements of their potential employers. That is why these proposed improvements of the subject content and form is only the beginning. A new approach to "Business Enterprise"subject doesn't consist only of these measures, but is also based on performed analyses and considers changing demands of target groups and professions. From theoretical findings it follows that managing a company is a very complicated and multifaceted process determined by the fact that a company itself is a complex organism whose individual parts engaged in different activities cannot function without some degree of planning, coordination, stimulation, control and decision-making. Management definitions can basically be divided into three groups, according to their definitions that emphasize managing people, functions performed by managers, the subject matter of study and its purpose. Taking the above management definitions in the aggregate, management is viewed as a "coherent set of proven approaches, opinions, experience, recommendations and methods that managers use to perform specific activities (manager's functions) that are necessary for the organisation to accomplish its objectives." Corporate objectives should be mutually complementary, but they can also be mutually contradictory (e.g. growing market share, reduction of costs, increasing labour productivity, developing new products, improving relations among suppliers, improving social relations within the company, improving quality of products and services, environmentally-friendly products, etc).
