The study programmes with the given course

Objective of the course – aims of the course unit:
Give the students a basic understanding of the theory of probability. Students should be able to interpret the basics of mathematical statistics.
Teach the students how to evaluate data focussing on finding solutions to "unsolvable" systems of linear equations with minimum errors.
Objective of the course – learning outcomes and competences:
n. a.
Prerequisites:
Basics of the theory of functions of one and several real variables (derivative, partial derivative, limit, continuous functions, graphs of functions). Basic operations with matrices and vectors.
Course contents (annotation):
Random experiment, continuous and discrete random variables (vectors), marginal distribution, independent random variables, transformation of random variables, characteristics of random variables and vectors. Random sampling, statistics.
Teaching methods and criteria:
n. a.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes:
Requirements for successful completion of the subject are specified by guarantor’s regulation updated for every academic year.
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences:
Extent and forms are specified by guarantor’s regulation updated for every academic year.
