Objective of the course – aims of the course unit:
The aim is summary of knowledge in water treatment and its extension in new and special technologies and special problems of water distribution.

Studend will be able to implement in the practice the new knowledge in water treatment and its extension in new and special technologies and special problems of water distribution.

Course contents (annotation):
Drinking water sources, protection of water sources and its categories, new special methods of water treatment, drinking water quality, bottled waters, modern technologies in sludge management of water treatment plants, automation of water treatment plants, leakage and failure rates, technical audit of distribution systems, reliability, risk analysis, history of water supply sector in CZ and other Cenral European Countries.

1.Drinking water sources and their protection.
2.New methods of coagulation.
3.Sludge blanket clarifiers inovation.
4.Filtration with coagulant. Pressure filtration. Other types of filters.
5.Rapid filtration mechanism, filtration materials.
6.Membrane processes of water treatment.
7.Modern technologies in sludge management of water treatment plants.Automation of water treatment plants.
8.Water supply performance indicators, water losses.
9.Failures, technical audit of water distribution network.
10.Technical audit of water tanks and pumping stations.
11.Reliability of water supply systems.
12.Risk analysis, Water Safety Plans.
13.History of water supply systems in CZ and other European countries.
