The study programmes with the given course

Objective of the course – aims of the course unit:
Subject objectives are following:
1. To show the sudents research process, its timing, barriers and bottlenecks.
2. To teach students how to define scientific field knowledge, to define contribution for theory, practice and for the company.
3. To teach students work with literature through review process.
4. To describe methods of primary investigation. To show methods of quantitative and qualitative investigation.
5. By method of presentation and defence of individual assignment to prove students abilities for future completion of dissertation thesis.
Objective of the course – learning outcomes and competences:
After passing of the course student´s will be able to provide secondary and primary research, which will be exercisable in final disertation thesis.

Prerekvizities are not defined.
Course contents (annotation):
Short content of the course:
1. Topic of disertation thesis, connection between research and disertation topic.
2. Research in entrepreneurship and management - research process, research design.
3. Research time schedulle, barriers a bottlenecks of research.
4. Definition of scientific field knowledge, review of literature.
5. Data resources nad investigation in a secondary research.
6. Methods of investigation in a primary research.
. Sample definition, creation of hypothesis.
. Pre-research investigation.
. Qualitative approaches.
. Quantitative approaches.
. Quantitative methods and quantitative investigation.
7. Presentation of individual assignment on the defined topic.
8. Non-traditional research methods - fuzzy systems, kvalitative modelling.
9. Author´s law.
Teaching methods and criteria:
Except lectures will be used in the course also team works and case studies from real practice.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes:
For successful completing of the course students must:
1. To prepare writen individual assignment and to defend it in the second part of the course.
2. To hand over the the individual assignment before the exam.
3. Examination is individual from half writen and from half oral from the topic of research methodology.
Assignment:
In the topic of your dissertation provide basic review of literature, e.g. scientific papers from all the world. From results of review select minimally 5 papers not older than 2 years, which document current field of knowledge in your selected topic of dissertation. Result of your review work present on the secont part of subject in winter semester of 1st class of doctoral study and hand over in writen form not later than one week befor the axam. writen assignment must be in the structure:
1. Introduction.
2. Disscussion of dissertation topic by the rules given in 1.st. part of the course.
3. Definition of scientific field of knowledge in the topic of dissertation document by the 5 scientific papers.
4. Methods used in primary investigation.
5. Definition of scientific contribution.
6. Conclusion.
Writen assignment prepare in extent of 15 pages A4.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences:
Active participation of student on the lectures will be controlled. Prezentation of writen assignment must be in the second part of the course. About additional presentation student will ask the teacher.
