Mastery of the basics of scientific approach to architecture and urban planning.

Knowledge of the basic methods and procedures of scientific and research work in architecture and urban planning.

Prerequisites:
Professional knowledge gained from academic study oriented to architecture, building or art.

Course contents (annotation):
Principles of scientific approach to architecture and urban planning, methodology and methods of scientific work, its formal attributes and its presentation, bases of work with information and literature. Acquisition of basics of scientific approach to architecture and urban planning.

Teaching methods and criteria:
Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes:
Oral examination. Submission of required seminar works, their evaluation is reckoned in the aggregate result of examination (1/3).

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences:
Attendance of at least 4 seminars, obligatory attendance and presentation at the final seminar.In case of absence from three and more seminars,compensatory seminar work.
