Issued topics of Doctoral Study Program

  1. A comprehensive approach to assessing the defects of solid wooden structures and the possibilities of their correction

The aim is to analyse the defects occurring most frequently in solid wooden structures, to arrange them suitably with respect to their effect on the level of functional parameters and the length of further use and also to propose a comprehensive approach to assessing the possibilities of their correction. For the defects which can be corrected, technologies will be selected for repairs with respect to the needs of an expert's opinion and determining the cost of their correction. For the defects which cannot be corrected, the focus will be given to methods for assessing their effect on the property value in relation to the reduction of the functional, aesthetic and other construction parameters. Not only the defects of the wooden structures themselves will be taken account for but also those that occur due to attaching the wooden structures to masonry or concrete ones. These procedures will be dealt with in relation to what an expert has to do when dealing with the problems in question.
