The graduate is ready for an independent scientific and research work in the field of architecture and urban design theory, is able to solve practical problems in the field of architecture and urban design independently and at a scientific level, publishes outcomes of both practical and theoretical activities, also in any of the world languages, is able to teach at a higher-education institution.

Entry requirements

The master degree qualification in the branch of architecture or similar achieved at a higher-education institution in the Czech Republic or a school of architecture abroad.
Passing successfully the admission examination during which the applicant proves his/her interest and expert knowledge for a research work.

  1. Connection the rescue of industrial monument with development of the city.

    The goal of this work is response to the question „ It is possible to connect the rescue of industrial monument with the development of te city?“ Concept of revitalisation of abandoned areas and their buildings. This work would like to contribute in research of localisation former factory, which is their rule, that would guarantir their protection and adaptif reuse. The aproches of stakeholders. Study of examples from abroad dealing with similar problem and new projects and orientation „ Can Culture and Local and Regional Authorities Lead Europe Out of the Crisis?“

  2. Concept of energy self-sufficient of residental buildings and its influence on architectural design

    Creating a microclimate in buildings is one of the tasks of contemporary architectural design. New requirements for construction offers a new architectural solutions, the use of new technologies and materials. This trend is also reflected in the creation of a project when the architect has less and less time for think, self-reflection feedback evaluation of design.

  3. Determinants of translucent elements of historic buildings in architectural design

    The issue of exchange of filling the holes in the windows of historic buildings with respect to the current requirements offers a new architectural solutions. Assessment and determinants application of transparent elements and their influence on the formation of the architectural design.

  4. Environment of buildings and ionic microclimate of buildings in architectural design

    Architects in architectural design increasingly finds inspiration in new designs and technologies, but also in traditional principles and materials. Already in building design architect can greatly affect the microclimate of buildings suitable selection of materials and structures, surfaces and with the method ventilation. With regard to sustainable development, ion microclimate may also be an indicator of a healthy environment and can have a significant impact on the health and psychological well-being.

  5. Interpretation of traditional structural principles in conterporary architecture

    The study deals with legasy of rich cultural heritage of baroque era which is strongly inscribed into form of cultural landscape of Southmoravian boarderland. The target of thesis is the design of optimal structural system for strategy of temporary using historical sight. Assumption phases of thesis • analysis of conterporary strategies and methods of renovation of listed objects by form provisional/temporary application of listed objects, • synthesis of knowledges and definition of strategy for specific listed object • aplication of traditional structural - technical methods for design of structural solving of provisional phasses using specific historical sight - movable, parasite structure etc. The thesis will be connected with project: „NAKI DF13P01OVV019“

    In the history of architecture, each of historical styles is characterized by its specific ornamentation. The dissertation should defend this thesis, based on analysis of the current trend of Digital architecture.

    Vývoj typologie, nástroj urbanizace v po roce 1990. V poslední době dochází k přestavbě a výstavbě nádraží (Vídeň, Linec, Londýn, Berlín) a proměně typologie železničního nádraží z jasné struktury jednoúčelové stavby devatenáctého století do dnešní polyfunkční typologie integrované se strukturou urbanizovaného území. Analýza současného stavu, proměna významu nádraží pro ekonomický rozvoj území.

  9. The New European Catolics Churches after The Second Vatican Council

    The Second Vatican Council has significantly changed the understanding of liturgy and sacred space. Conciliar reform of liturgy brought many fundamental ganges. The aim of the work will be docuimented in in a broader context, to Compaq approach in creating sacred space for new European religion buildings.
