Architecture of 20th Century 1

The course focuses on the interpretation of the history and theory of architecture from the beginning of the twentieth century to the Second World War from Art Nouveau through Cubism and Expressionism to the top functionalism to its outcome in organic and classicist tendencies.
In the study programmes “Architecture and Urban Design” the course is part of the theoretical courses.

  2. Important personalities of the beginning of 20th centrury – Wagner, Behrens, Poelzig, Loos, Perret
  3. Important personalities and trends between wars – Le Corbusier, Bauhaus, De Stijl
