Quality of Goods in Business Venture

The course addresses the problems related to the significance of quality in business venture and its role in the world markets.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will have a clear idea of modern approaches to the quality management at company, including the most frequently used quality management systems, namely according to the norms ISO 9000, TQM and EFQM.

Prerequisites

Fundamentals of the organization and managerial functions of the company, understanding of importance of customer in market economy.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Lectures consist of an explanation of basic principles, methodology of the discipline, problems and their solutions.
Exercises promote the practical mastery of subject presented in lectures or assigned for individual study with the active participation of students.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Conditions for passing an exam: Knowledge of taught topics and their practical application.
Form of examination: Combined – a written test possibly followed by an oral examination.

- Fundamental methods of quality management (FMEA, QFD, POKA - YOKE, FTA, Cycle P - D - C - A, quality diary, reliability analysis )

- Quality management systems (ISO 9000, TQM, ISO 14 000, EFQM)
- Quality economics
- Corporate strategy of quality

- Consumer protection
- Methods and techniques of products evaluation
- Trends in quality management

Aims

The main objective of the course is to provide students with necessary theoretical foundation and methodology from the field of products and services quality. It also focuses on mastering modern approaches to the quality assurance, management, and improvement of products as well as corporate processes in companies.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Control of results of independent work on specified tasks.
