Students will be made familiar with general vocabulary for the workplace, as well as grammar structures for everyday communication at B1 level (intermediate).

Course is intended for students who are familiar with the language at pre-intermediate level.

The course is taught by means of language lessons focused on practicing language skills and developing vocabulary. It includes also individual work of students in the elearning environment.

Course-unit credit is awarded on condition of having attended the seminars actively, worked out assigned tasks and passed a credit test. The credit test has one regular term and two resits.

5. U3 Future lifestyles. Grammar - will, may, might, be likely/possible. Vocabulary - The speed of change, describing cause and effect
6. U3 Future lifestyles. Work skills - Emails 1: confirming arrangements. Functions - Making arrangements.

8. U4 Heritage. Grammar - Making comparisons. Vocabulary - City descriptions; -ing vs -ed adjectives
9. U4 Heritage. Work skills - Presentations 1: using visual aids. Functions - Giving opinions
10. U5 Fashion and Function. Grammar - Modal nad Related verbs: have to, must, need to, be allowed to, can. Vocabulary - Colours nad colour idioms; prefixes
11. U5 Fashion and Function. Work skills - Telephoning. Functions - Giving advice and suggestions

The course is intended to teach English as a foreign language at general level. Students learn basic grammar and lexical structures at B1 level (intermediate) necessary for everyday communication.

Attendance at seminars is systematically checked by the teacher, as well as students' systematic work. Absence may be in justified cases compensated for by the agreement with the teacher.
