Course curriculum

Basic terms. Equivalent networks replacing the power system (PS) elements and their parameters. Mathematical modelling of the PS operation in steady state. Power energy losses. Parallel and serial compensation. Factors of power supply quality. Shock protection.Basic economical considerations related to the operation and the selection of power line parameters and the transformers. Short circuit currents and their impact on the PS elements. Mathematical modelling of PS when calculating the characteristic values of short circuit currents for symmetrical failures.
