Engineering Network and Traffic Infrastructure

The first part of the subject is aimed at engineering communications and gaining the basic information in the branch of design, building and operating of engineering communications. The second block is aimed at traffic infrastructure and brief list about communications, traffic and over land communications.
Apart from technical side (legal rules, quality control, failures, management and maintenance etc.) is also done basic legal rules from the field of building law.

Outputs compose integrated corpus of basic information in the field of design, building and usage of systems of individual engineering communications and traffic infrastructure.

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Course curriculum

1. Role of engineering communications in society, historical development and sorting the communications.
2. 3D scheme of communications; water home and sewage communications.
3. Tapping of real estate - connections; systems of central heating, gas piping.
4. Tapping of gas piping - connections, guide network, telecommunication network, standards and rules related to building and management of engineering network.
5. Social function of transport and historical development; transportation system, tasks and role of road and city traffic engineering.
6. Road communication basic terminology; road and building administrative authorities, network in CZ and Europe.
7. Basic technical and legal data for design, building, maintenance and management of road network.
8. Kinds of documentation for road building, hearing of documentation, authorization of legal exceptions.
9. Design of road elements, design of formations and road construction.
10. System of quality in the field of road communication, controlling works.
11. Local and private roads, mass urban transportation, static traffic, pedestrian and bicycle traffic.
12. Rail transport and traffic; railway stations and nodes, transfer stations.
13. Air transport, carriage by water and unconventional transport.
