| Original Abstract: |
The partial discharge is regarded as a parasitic effect occurring in insulating systems. Occurrences of partial discharge can be considered as quite random effect. Especially in high density circuits where the applied voltage is quite low but conducting routes are close one to the other each fault in insulation between conducting routes can lead from voltage level of about 500 V to partial discharge ignition and subsequent degradation of insulation parameters which usually results in an electrical breakdown. Using the device described in paper it is possible to register the partial discharge pulses and due to adjustable level of amplitude detection determine their intensity. All signals acquainted in process of measurements are processed by PC or notebook via USB connection. |
