Original Abstract

The rapid increase of required data throughput over satellite links requires more spectral efficient modulations without compromising the power efficiency due to the linearity requirements and back-off of the power amplifier. This paper presents a case study of three most-promising efficiency and linearity enhancement techniques - digital Doherty, analog predistortion, and digital predistortion in the selected satellite communication applications.
