Original Abstract

This paper briefly introduces Mathcad engineering software as a learning tool for teaching signal processing algorithms. Thanks to the visual formula-based format, Mathcad is a very illustrative environment, especially for demonstrating the processing of audio signals. A complete algorithm for determining the fundamental frequency of voice is described and its implementation in Mathcad is suggested. In the newly designed computer exercise, students can create a program worksheet and then use it with a microphone to measure the properties of their own voice.
