ART AND CULTURE
Brno University of Technology offers several places for presenting various artistic genres including fine arts, architectural projects, design exhibitions, and others. Most exhibitions are initiated at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Faculty of Architecture, and at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (Department of Industrial Design), but there are also various cultural projects presented at the Old Brewery Centre of the Faculty of Information Technology.
In November 2004, the Aula Gallery at the BUT Faculty of Fine Arts was opened by a video art exhibition of Woody Vašulka, a living legend from USA. Since that time, this art gallery has seen about 30 author's and joint exhibitions. A great deal of attention has also been given to young artists from the BUT Faculty of Fine Arts and from other artistic schools with cross-genre and inter-school comparative exhibitions offered to the public. Guided tours, lectures, workshops, and projections are also offered at the Aula Gallery and regular exhibitions held of final and Bachelor's degree projects.
In its own studios and corridor galleries as well as in the newly reconstructed student club, the BUT Faculty of Architecture exhibits students' works and projects, graphic art pieces, and models.
The hall adjoining lecture room Q at the BUT Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and rooms provided by the Institute of Design regularly see industrial design exhibitions.
